It's All About BUSINESS ,Reasons to Bid for "Aadhaar "

A Leading News Carrier has been posting a news on Business Outsourcing Process units in India having opted out of bidding for Contract for "Aadhaar" , the call center for Unique Identity project For India. With no reasons cited , there has been a delimma about the " Patriotic " business conduct in India. Lemme give them three reasons NOT to opt out from biddin for this project :

1. The scope of project is the Indian Population ( 600 Million by 2014 ), the revenue model ( what ever it may be ) would be enormous

2. Though there is no clarity about no. of calls and profitablity, but Since when did Business became about Predictablity

3. To be associated with a project which is touted to change the " indentity " of india, should be a matter of pride for a business house.

some business have to be outside " Profitablity " concerns.

COLLABORATIVE GOVERNANCE SYSTEMS

Through my involvement and observation of systems of governance, I have realized that any government has following “systems” in place to run smoothly:

  1. Governance systems
  2. People systems

A fair and smooth running of government requires both the systems to “collaborate” with each other. The governance systems consist of various Laws laid down in our constitution and serve as guide to govern any state :

  1. Governance systems provide structure to the people systems
  2. People systems implement the structure irrespective of the need or desire for the structure designed

“AS IS” STATUS OF GOVERNANCE IN INDIA

  1. Multi party system prevalent in government
  2. Weak leadership, dependent on central government decision
  3. Non involvement of people in governance of State leading to “weak” People System

PEOPLE SYSTEMS “IN ACTION”:

  1. The government systems should include a feedback process to enable involvement and restructuring of system.
  2. The feedback mechanism should consist of “direct’ involvement of people of state

PRIYANK'S COLLABORATIVE GOVERNANCE SYSTEM

  1. Inclusion of a feedback mechanism into the “systems” ( which in turn can be achieved by )
  2. Direct involvement of people in governing the state,( leading to )
  3. Dynamic governance which can be restructured (if required )

HOW TO EVOLVE PEOPLE SYSTEM

  1. Nomination of people representatives who would act as “feedback” mechanism for the government systems. These nominations should be over and above the electoral selection
  2. Unstable governments and costly mid-term elections can and should be avoided by electing Head Of State by secret and compulsory vote of all MLAs and people representatives.
  3. Such an elected Head Of State may be removed only by the same process but with compulsion to name alternate leader in the same motion.

CONCLUSION:

The overall theme is that “Collaborative” Systems ensure dynamic and robust governance. This piece shows a completely alternative way of looking at a solution considering many variables and factors. The most important change recommended is of understanding that the “common man” of a state has to participate in governance of a state. Though some beginnings have been made, some experiments been piloted and worked, let this essay be the beginning of a dialogue and further research and thinking. There are noted gaps in the essay, which will get addressed in the versions released.

How to Build A Brand...

HOW TO BUILD A SUCCESSFUL BRAND J

[With references from my Mentor and colleagues]

Brands are something that really play an important part in revenue generation. Building a good brand, hence is most important for any firm .There are seven most important ingredients of BRAND BUILDING

Quality

Quality is a vital ingredient of a good brand. It is the “core benefits” – the things consumers expect. These must be delivered well, consistently. The branded computer that crashes often, or the oven that often falls apart when wet will never develop brand equity.

Positioning

Positioning is about the position a brand occupies in a market in the minds of consumers. Strong brands have a clear, often unique position in the target market and can be achieved through several means, including brand name, image, service standards, product guarantees, packaging and the way in which it is delivered.

Repositioning

Repositioning occurs when a brand tries to change its market position to reflect a change in consumer’s tastes. This is often required when a brand has become tired, perhaps because its original market has matured or has gone into decline.

Communications

Communications play a key role in building a successful brand. Brand positioning is essentially about customer perceptions and SHOULD be well communicated – with the objective to build a clearly defined position in the minds of the target audience.

First-mover advantage

In terms of brand development, by “first-mover” means that it is possible for the first successful brand in a market to create a clear positioning in the minds of target customers before the competition enters the market.

Long-term perspective

Brand building is indeed dependent on need to invest in the brand over the long-term. Building customer awareness, communicating the brand’s message and creating customer loyalty takes time. This means that firms must “invest” in a brand, perhaps at the expense of short-term profitability.

Internal marketing

Finally, Firms should ensure that the brand is marketed “internally” as well as externally. This is particularly important in service businesses where a critical part of the brand value is the type and quality of service that a customer receives.

Save My state ………. Too many Hands, No work for them

Save My state ………. Too many Hands, No work for them

Date : 10th Feb

Place : Hotel Capitol hill , convention hall

Activity : “Jharkhand Yuva Manch” …. and kinna discussion of future

“Wow” I wondered… why does the strategy for upliftment of society and “empowering” the poor starts from a plush hotel convention room? I mean the best way to “strategize” the strategy would be with the people who are the end beneficiaries of them.

I was there at capitol hill convention, waiting for the “young “leaders of Jharkhand to show up and decide the roadmap for future developments. The meeting started and ended with “vande mataram”, but I could not find any “leader” speaking about solution to chaos in Jharkhand. I could not relate to what was being discuss there, may be coz I was the only “leader” in Jeans and tees while rest in Khadi .

I was not there to join another “political party”, I was there for discussing the roadway ahead, but was disappointed. That night I could not sleep much ….. no, it had nothing to do with the “leader “ in me….. it was load shedding of power…. My place still has 15 hrs of power out of 24 hrs.

“Why don’t you start from the place you live? “ Suggested a friend, “jagruti” should start from home. I took my car and drove to meet a friend of mine. He is BSc. Gold medalist from Ranchi University. Just wanted to know how “Jharkhand” has worked for its natives. The experience was an eye opener; his family had three first class BSc graduates, one Engineer and none with a job. With all that “adivaasi” quota mayhem, how could people who deserve job didn’t get one?

His dad was still hopeful, but pointed out “an empty mind and idle body is nation’s worst nightmare, if you don’t give them job, you make them worst enemies of society

It did rang bells some where...... I wondered, ‘Jharkhand is rich with resources yet to be explored, then why people here are jobless, why don’t they find a job…or better still get self-employed ?’

Can YOU help me find my answer….. ?

Regards

Priyank Kishor

SAVE my State ....

Date :February 8th

Place: Firayalal Chowk ,Ranchi, Jharkhand

Activity : effigy burning “ceremony “ of government of Jharkhand

“Wow” … I thought, can government by “effigified” ? And is it justified to blame a handful of people for present situation of Jharkhand? I don’t think so.

Since it’s conceivement, Jharkhand has been through a lot of post natal complications. Innumerable form of governments, various “well wishing” netas, Union governments and a nagging neighbor …. Jharkhand has seen it all. Still after about 10 years of subjection to mayhem both from administration and common man , my state hasn’t yet taken off for development. And by development I don’t mean broad roads , street lighting , CCDs or hukka points.

I mean are our people in Jharkhand have grown mature enough to take in the onus of development of state? I don’t think so. I don’t want to go into what the problems of Jharkhand are? There is no need to. Because most of the people are already doing that … I want to look out for options which could help my state. And I need your help for it

If we consider Jharkhand as an organization, there ought to be various stakeholders in it .Let me chalk out the various stakeholders in Jharkhand … it’s just one …. Common man in Jharkhand

Surprised? Confused? …. Even I was when I sat down to chalk out the stakeholders .

Every problem starts and ends with common people in Jharkhand, those who are satisfied with administration work with it , those who are not turn out to be Naxals …

I request you to kindly pour in your views about how to empower the common man in Jharkhand to make MY State a better place ….

I would keep sharing my views with you for further discussion

LIFE … CAN WE SMILE BACK AT IT?

“kya karein zindagi isko jo hum mile, iski jaan kha gaye raat din ke gile “
Life … what is it ? a compulsion for us caused by biological activity of our parents? Or something we do coz everyone’s doing it ….. living? Looking back about 25 years of my life…. I still wonder , wether it’s worth a dime ?what have I done to make; leave others ; jus to make myself smile a bit whenever I’m alone? i put up this question to everyone, u…. me…. People in metro…. The gatekeeper of a mall… everyone… what is life for them? Have they been happy all those years they have lived? can they look back and say yeah … I have lived my life… the answer is probably .....NO
What shud be the solution to this?? the most simple and diplomatic answer is …. Be worth to others..
BE WORTH TO OTHERS …?? Cummon … this is the most Hipocratic thing I have heard… how can one be worth to others if we are not even WORTH TO OURSELVES….?? How can I make difference to society if I cud not make difference to my own life ? how can I make people around me happy when I am sad? how can I make others comfortable in my company when I fear being alone?
Now things start rolling …. We start looking for some other answer… but WAIT .. hey don’t be in hurry … don’t look outside …. It’s within U…
“ jahan samasya hoti hai wahin uska samadhan hota hai “
Look out for yourself in all kind of mess u have created, u’ll find yourslf in a small kid sitting in a small corner fearing from the junk u have created all these years … take him out for a walk …. Make him smile … talk to him….. sing with him… do what u haven’t done all these years … BE WITH URSELF …. Forget all responsibilities… don be a son..father… husband or a boyfriend ( the same applies to the fairer sex )…u’ll soon realize what u missed all these years …. May be u may smile …. May be u’ll cry … it’s ok …. Do it and u’ll find ur worth again ….. I know that … it may take time … it took me 25 yrs to do so… I was almost dead ….but I’m back … I know what it feels to realize one’s worth …. Believe me it’s tons better than driving a merc maybach or being with Angelina Jolie J
Be the person u are … not the one ppl want u to be … no matter what ppl conceive that to be …. I knw a bit more about myself nw..and I know U WILL DO THE SAME
Jus a quote … may be something which is true but in crude sense ( pardon me for using sm unparliamentary word…
“ mere khwaab kaminey… mere aarzoo kaminey…meri manzil kaminey ….. mere raastey kaminey “
BE THE ONE … BE A KAMINA … DO SOMETHING FOR URSLF … MAY BE THEN SOMEDAY U MAY SEE BACK AND SMILE

INDIA INDEPENDENT ... ?

“ Saare jahan se achcha Hindustan hamara” …The syllables had floated into his room through the open window. His eyes opened in a start to check his mobile for the time. He was about to leave the bed in a haste to get ready for the college when suddenly he remembered ….today was 15th of August….The Independence Day. Today was the national holiday. He thanked God…took out a Marlboro from the packet that had only two to offer….lit it n moved towards the balcony. The sun stared helplessly at him as a black thick cloud began to vanquish it….His shadow on the balcony wall began to fade n soon the sun was surrendered into submission..

He leaned on the balcony railing, inhaled a long puff n enjoyed the spirit of patriotism that was beginning to overpower him…This happened only twice a year for him. He wondered if all his countrymen underwent the same pump of adrenaline when they saw the tricolor wave in the sky n the melodious notes of songs floating about. He remembered the school and college days when he used to participate in the parade. He remembered the emotions that would stir up when he would stand in parade, with his chest broadened to the tunes of the National Anthem. He wished he had been in the army.

This was his first Independence Day in delhi. He had joined an ambitious business project called Soil, just a month ago. He had looked forward to his stay in delhi, the city famous for its glamorous and bubbly crowd. Yesterday evening he had been to cannaught place, one of the most happening places of delhi bustling with young college crowd….So he ,coming from a not so modern and young city of Jharkhand had high hopes to get to know how the so called metropolitan youth of India behaved…He could not fail to admire the young and beautiful faces[;)] , but somehow he felt uncomfortable in this environment. The way boys n girls dressed ,talked and moved about….Something worried him. .This was what he had gone there for….to steal a few glimpses of beautiful girls placed cosily in their boyfreinds’ arms…to stare at some pretty faces….But when he actually got to see …he was offered with more than what he had expected…He had seen girls smoking and boozing with utmost ease that would have put the dreaded dopers of his college to shame…Feminists who believed in equality can advocate that if society can accept a man smoking then why not a girl…He had no answer to it….This line of opinion was indeed genuine and justified…But he somehow got the feeling that the actions of the youth of India can be described more as aping the so called developed and modern societies rather than moving towards the real liberalisation and modernization….We have overlooked the social structure that India has and blindly aped the living style of the West…without even thinking if our society is prepared for the change.

This aping psyche has long been the trait of Indians…We have always been awed by the prosperity that developed nations boast of….Indians have always been fascinated with anything foreign and imported…be it a car, a perfume or even a t shirt….This psyche has not spared even the brightest minds of India…He recalled how many friends of his college and other good ones had only one motive throughout their studies…to flee this land which gives you nothing but a meager salary n lots of frustration to deal with… He remembered how vehemently they would voice and defend their opinion…Their favorite point of offence would be at the way politics operates in India…The way corruption has made inroads into every facet of the beauracracy…He had never come across a youth who had the ambition to join politics..Even if he had it was for other obvious reasons, not for the cause of the country….He remembered how he used to be a silent listener to these strong lines of defence that his friends had built by letting open a fierce attack on virtually everything that India had under the sun.
He strongly believed that culture is a very relative term. What the Indians may consider as obscene and indecent might be a casual way of life in the West..So he never indulged in the braggadocio that his friends would carry out about the Indian culture being the best in the world…etc etc…He only believed that the culture which has evolved over years could not be and need not be changed just because we want to be standing in the line of developed nations and so we need to do what people over there do. The best way out would be to zero in on the flaws of our traditions and work towards their eradication , so that we as a nation can create our own identity. That is what he wanted to see the Indian youth doing.
That day when he had returned back from cannaught place he lay down on his bed…eyes fixed on the ceiling fan which monotonously stared at him and he thought…for the first time…he thought about his life..about his ambition….about his country. He could have very easily blamed the politicians of India for leading the country into deep pits as most people had been doing. But then the bunch of politicians represent the choice that people of India have. If they enjoy so much popularity that they can win elections year after year then it is the people of India who are to be blamed…The mentality needs to change…That was a major flaw in the society and he wanted the youth to come forward to take on this menace, to present before the people an alternative that they cannot afford to refuse. So he would join politics.

Seconds later his determination was beginning to shake…Politics today was not an easy job…he realized that…one can easily lose his life in an attempt towards the catharsis of this vast marsh that has set in on Indian society…Scenes of his wailing mother, his silent father, his grieved family and friends flashed before his eyes…He turned his eyes away from the ceiling in terror…He was afraid of death…He could not gift his family sorrow of a lifetime…he was in a deep fix…he closed his eyes for some respite and had fallen asleep.

Suddenly his hands had started to feel a burning sensation and he looked down to realize that the Marlboro had been incensed to the butt and was about to do same to his fingers…he hurriedly dropped the butt , it sailed in the wind and after a few moments rested on the wet grass. The flame slowly began diminishing and finally the cold droplets of water had conquered it leaving out smoke…He had been watching this trivial event from above..and suddenly……something struck him…..A single flame cannot ignite the rain draped grass but the vice versa had been made possible…the flame was put off….He looked above at the sun…it was beginning to come out from the dark thick cloud …soon the grass would dry up in the sun and be ready to be ignited (definitely not by a cigarette butt)…..He wondered what would come to his rescue to ignite his countrymen’s minds draped with hackneyed mentality…He thought what could be the sun of his life….Money….may be ….for that he will have to wait….He shall wait.
